I had my birthday weekend all planned out:
Friday 24th (actual birthday): Having stayed at mums and dads, I would wake up early, open presents then catch a ride into Henderson with dad so I can catch my train into work, have a shouted birthday lunch (well enjoy a birthday lunch with the department saying byebye to Ken the guy that's retiring... I don't even get to say bye in person!) have a nice avo tea with eves pantry carrot cake (yum!) and after work join in the gran terrismo comp and run havock by driving the wrong way throughout my turn! (just cause I'm like the b'day gal) Oh, and possibly drinks in town afterwards with James and Co. for his own b'day drinks...
Sat: Baby Shower for a work mate, where I get to present her with the big cool baby doughnut that I have been raving about the majority of her pregnancy - then drinkies at my place
Sun: recovering from possible hangover, cleaning up from the night before, vaccuming - and any other housework that needs to be done.
Now this is what I have to look forward to:
Starting wednesday: Waking up at 2 am in the morning, with my whole body aching, a head that feels like it is going to explode then emplode any second and a heavy chest that is unallowing any decent breath to come in. then my mum calls me up when all I want to do is sleep, (considering the lack of) and demands for me to go see the doctor (by then I had the full on shakes and body hacking coughs to go with it) the funny thing is all I could think of then was can't you just leave me alone so I can get some sleep? Somehow I managed to get myself up (in 15 min intervals - sit up, one foot out, then other, now stand, walk to kitchen, bathroom, get dressed etc) and my really cool flatmates drove to 1/2 hr to the Dr and were even willing to drive me all the way over to mums and dads too! :-)
Thursday: Ok, today I felt a whole lot better! watched a bit of tv, had some meds to get me along etc. But I still would have rather been at work...
Friday: I do get to be here tomorrow, but the whole day - bye bye to nice lunch and to ken, eves carrot cake, and drinks!
Sat: still got the baby doughnut! So going to have to find a way to drop it off to Linda before the baby is born (hopefully!) Don't get to have my drinkies.
Sun: Only good thing is no HANGOVER! lol
Well, I know that I have done a lot of complaining here, and even though it was kind of my intention, I don't like to be a downer and fill my world with complaints, so the bright side:

Well, I know that I have done a lot of complaining here, and even though it was kind of my intention, I don't like to be a downer and fill my world with complaints, so the bright side:

1. I get to have the WHOLE day of my birthday off.
2. I get to open presents later in the morning instead of getting up at the crack of dawn
3. I have a nice lunch cooked for me by my dear old mum!
4. I have a nice dinner cooked for me by my dear old sister!
5. I get to sleep in Sat and Sun, still get housework done
6. I get to NOT have a hangover (anyway I'm not much of a drinker!)
7. I can take my time with the housework instead of rushing around trying to get it done
8. I have had TIME to actually write in here, and check my email
9. I get to have HEAPS of cuddles from my lovely cat Flopsey (who I miss sooo much!)
10. I get to spend the majority of the weekend with my family who I don't get to see too much since I've moved out of home!
On those ten bright things to look at - who wouldn't be happier for this alternative birthday?
