Ghostly Experiences

Through out my life I have lived in quite a few houses. A few of them have had some very strange occurrences to them.
(Don’t worry, I won’t go into long detail with every single house I have lived in… just the very weird and tingly parts…)

In the first house, a few things happened that are memorable; My mum woke in the middle of the night to footsteps walking around the bed, thinking that it was one of us kids coming in because of a bad dream, she pulled the covers down for them to climb in… but when she opened her eyes to see which one of us it was, no one was there. In the same house my older sister woke up to people standing around her bed (we later found out that a little girl had died in that house 10 years before…)

In another house, when you went down the stairs you could hear whispering…and raised voices… there were also rooms in that house that no one even my parents would go near - unless they really had to – even then we wouldn’t stay there for very long, you just knew that someone was watching you and whoever it was, they weren’t very nice….
(I did a history project on my street for school and found out that just at the top of the street was where they used to hang a few people… coincidence?)

At my last house I woke in the middle of the night to someone calling my name, only to see shadowed outlines of people standing over my bed, one of them was floating over my head, with glowing red eyes… I know that I wasn’t in that REM stage of sleep, as I could move and once I said “Go away!” it was as if a vacuum had sucked the shadows up and let the moon light come back into my room…

Up until my last house we didn’t have much happen, except for when we were just about to move, we’d have a little white poodle run up the stairs, through the kitchen, up the hall, and it didn’t come back…, I guess it was just saying good bye to the old houses?
(Mum and dad said that one of their friends had once owned a white poodle, that got ran over outside the first house – so we call it kip – the name of the little one)

Just this weekend I moved into my 6th house with my parents. Out the front we have a playground that the previous owners build for their children. While up in the fort part of the playground with my three year old nephew, he pointed to my bedroom window and said “That old lady can’t get up here!” Not very encouraging when you have just moved in and have to sleep in that room! The thing that was really scary though, was that night as we were all just falling to sleep we keep on hearing a *click-smack, click-smack* sound in the hall way. After a while it stopped, so we put it down to an old house making noises (put aside the quick thought of the old lady) It wasn’t until this morning that I found out what the noise was… as I was looking for the phone book in the phone table I opened the cupboard with a *click* it wasn’t until I closed the cupboard with a *smack* when it dawned on me that the sound from the first night was that same cupboard door in the hallway, just right outside my room!

Let’s just hope that this lady is a nice one and she doesn’t cause too much mischief…
