Singles Party

Ok, Well the singles party didn't go as well as I had hoped it would...

(This was taken just as I walked into the door)

It started off with me being very unsure of where to go, who to mingle with and trying not to strand my friends... (although one of them ended up dissapearing latter in the show - another story I must admit)

(This Picture was taken Just before I got hit on by the old guy...)

After I had a few drinks in me (all payed for by my mates and prospective guys) I decided to go and sit down at one of the tables, one that wasn't quite so in the open - but near the door so if need be I could make a quick escape...

I got hit on about three times; The first, was a man who was old enough to be my own father (or even older) his tactics were... Out there I must admit.

Ahem, allow me to decribe it slightly...

There I was, writing out name tags for my friends (who only seemed to be there in support of yours truly) When this old man walked up to me, set his beer on the table and bluntly stated

"I see that I have walked into a singles party."

to that I replied "Yes, indeed you have"
(trying ever so much not to crack up laughing)

the poor man cleared his throat and began again. "So, ah... How to I join up?"

To that I replied, "Well, you go to wwwDOT..." he just managed to shake his head and staggared slightly (he was possibly very drunk, so hence the hitting on a girl young enough to be his daughter!)

"No,no,no! How do I join up with you"

(I believe, what he was trying to say was 'how do I hook up')

my reply? "You don't, you too old for me" I began to walk away, as he recovered from his initial shock he slurred "Well, at least she's honest"

Now, If I hadn't of had a few drinks in me, I possibly would've handled it a bit better. This time, however I stopped walking away, turned and smiled brightly into his face "I never said she was tactful" and with that I walked off.

(ok, maybe it wasn't the funnist thing in the world, but I really wanted to get it down, so it's not going on around my head!)

The other two times was a guy that I 'Accidentally' bumped into. (I wanted to see what he looked like, and I ended up scoring a drink from him in the end) and the other, was a guy of which I'd been chatting to on the site, and we had agreed to meet there. (my friends, again were able to have a laugh at my expence, as he turned out to be a not so very nice looking guy with beady little eyes - and a leach no doubt) I call him puppy dog now as that is what he was like for the whole of that blasted night!
(Below from left is: AJ, Tiff, Dan and James - All my 'Laughing-Supportive Mates')

Oh, and I managed to get my chest written on - resulting in me waking up the next morning going "What the..." (As those who know me could tell you, I don't usually allow anyone to do that when I am sober)

Any Ways, I might As well say my "Cherrio" as The night is young and I must Fly!

(I think my room is the next step, it so desperatly needs my attention...)
